An old-school disco night in Darlington was so successful that another one has already been arranged for next year -  and tickets are already selling fast

Nathan Moore, the former lead singer of 80s boyband Brother Beyond, led the fun at the Forum Music Centre last Saturday (November 23) by belting out a series of crowd-pleasers - and he has agreed to return for a repeat performance next year.

An all-80s DJ set by Scott Wetherill - playing the likes of Five Star, Men At Work and Howard Jomes - and another by DJ Mojaxx bookended the evening, which saw revellers dress in leg-warmers, Choose Life T-shirts and outlandish wigs.

Organiser and host for the night James Watson received overwhelmingly positive feedback and attendees from the event shared their thoughts on the night on social media.

Barbara from Darlington said: "Honestly, best gig I've been to at the Forum for ages, fantastic atmosphere, everyone was sooo happy!! Well done."

Nicky, also from Darlington, added: "Always have a brilliant night with an amazing atmosphere at the Forum, but this has been my fave night so far.

"It had everything and it was non stop."

Another attendee said: "Scott and Mojaxx did a fantastic job of playing the tunes that we all remembered and even more that we had forgotten about."

They noted that Nathan kept the energy high, saying: "The night was made even better by the visuals on the stage, it was memories of coming home from school, weekend telly, cars our parents used to drive, clothes we wore."

The crowd enjoyed singing along to their favourite hits, with some even getting personal attention from Nathan.

One attendee described "singing along to the big hits of years gone by with Nathan and then suddenly he would appear next to you in the crowd with a microphone making you sing even more".

The atmosphere was further enhanced by spontaneous moments, including breakdancing and nostalgic references to childhood.

An attendee said: "There was breakdancing, there were leg warmers, there were people singing to songs they hadn’t sung to in 30 years."

Others praised Nathan’s ability to engage the crowd.

One said: "Outstanding night out in Darlington. Nathan Moore knows exactly how to work the crowd with a tour de force of 80s and 90s nostalgia."

Another woman, Lauretta, expressed her enthusiasm, stating: "I had the best night, the atmosphere was great. Nathan was amazing and James is a lovely host."
