A County Durham petrol station has been branded 'the best in the North of England' by drivers after offering petrol for as little as 129.7p - and consistently having low prices.
Throughout the cost of living crisis, people are trying to save a bit of money - and finding places with cheap petrol can help keep costs low and help drivers save a bit of money.
While supermarket chains with petrol stations attached have predominately kept their fuel prices high, even during oil shortages due to the Ukraine war, independent garages managed to keep their prices low for customers. It's no different for G.W Holmes & Sons in Etherley Moor, Bishop Auckland, which has wowed customers consistently with its prices.
On their social media account, they regularly post updates about how cheap petrol and diesel are - with customers pledging to "never go elsewhere" as long as the prices remain cheap at G.W Holmes.
Most recently, it took to social media over the weekend to tell customers that petrol would be 129.7p and diesel would be 135.7p as we head into December.
In comparison, other petrol stations around Bishop Auckland are selling petrol for up to 134.9p and diesel for 141.9p.
Reacting to the cheap prices from G.W Holmes, one motorist said: "Best garage in the North of England, and probably further," while another simply added: "Best garage around."
A litre of unleaded petrol now costs on average 136.2p with diesel coming in at 141.9p.
