A man has been arrested after a two-day manhunt for a driver suspected of carrying a firearm through Stockton.
Officers were called to the town on Tuesday (November 26) evening after reports of a man driving a vehicle while being "armed with a firearm".
The vehicle was located a short time later but was unoccupied, sparking a manhunt, with armed police officers conducting patrols and executing warrants across the Hardwick area.
Cleveland Police has confirmed that a 35-year-old man was detained at a property on Cornforth Road on Thursday (November 28).
He has been arrested on suspicion of possession of a firearm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and breaching a restraining order and is due to be questioned by detectives.

As previously reported, on Wednesday evening, gun-toting officers were pictured on Ketton Road and Cocken Road at around 7.30pm, entering properties along the street.
Later that evening, armed response officers were also spotted on Yarm Road, in Eaglescliffe.
