Two people were hospitalised following a crash on the A69 in Corbridge.
The incident took place just before 8:50am this morning and motorists are being warned to avoid the area.
Two people were taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary for treatement.
A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to a road traffic collision this morning (28 November) at 8:49am on A69 near Corbridge.
"We dispatched two ambulance crews and one specialist paramedic. Two patients were taken to RVI hospital."
A Northumbria Police spokesperson said: "Shortly after 8.50am, we were alerted by the ambulance service to a collision on the A69 eastbound near Corbridge.
"Emergency services are currently in attendance at the scene.
"Motorists are advised to avoid the area and seek alternative routes where possible.”
