Neighbourhood wardens in County Durham are desperately looking for the owner of a dog after the details on its microchip were found to be out of date.
Durham County Council Neighbourhood Wardens North issued the appeal yesterday, but the owner has yet to be located.
The pet had managed to lose its owner in the Chester-le-Street area of County Durham before being picked up by the wardens.

Describing the dog as a “lovely chap”, the wardens hope to reunite the dog using social media.
A spokesperson for Neighbourhood Wardens said: “Although he has a microchip, the details held against the database appear to be out of date.
“If you have information on who he belongs to, we ask that you contact our customer services on 03000 260000 or drop us a private message”
