Armed police have swarmed a Stockton estate following an unknown incident.
Gun-toting officers were spotted on Ketton Road and Cocken Road, in Hardwick, on Tuesday (November 27) evening, with reports of police activity first surfacing around 7.30pm.
Pictures from the scene showed the officers - who were clad in all black, wearing helmets, and carrying guns over their front - standing beside a string of police vehicles at around 8.30pm.
Eyewitnesses reported seeing police searching several properties in the two streets, which are roughly 0.6 miles apart but both in Hardwick, with one image showing an armed officer heading in the front door of a home.
Regular police officers were also in attendance, with at least four Cleveland Police force vehicles seen parked on Cocken Road.

The police activity came just one day after armed officers were called to Stockton following an incident earlier on Tuesday (November 26).
Officers attended the area after reports of a man "driving a vehicle around the Stockton area while suspected of being armed with a firearm" - with police finding the vehicle but not the man.
It has not been confirmed whether this activity is linked to last night - and The Northern Echo has contacted Cleveland Police for more information.
