A 9-year-old boy has been hospitalised after he was hit by a car early this morning in Redcar.
The incident took place at 8.30am on Mersey Road.
The boy was taken to James Cook University Hospital by ambulance with injuries not thought to be life-threatening.
The police are appealing for information or footage of the incident.

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "At 8.30am on Wednesday 27 November police were called to reports of a collision on Mersey Road in Redcar involving a pedestrian and a car.
"The boy, aged 9, was taken to James Cook University Hospital by ambulance with injuries not believed to be life-threatening.
"Anyone who has information or dash cam footage is asked to call 101 or visit the website quoting reference number 225537."
