Trains passing between Darlington and Newcastle may be delayed or cancelled after damage to overhead electrical lines, National Rail has said.
Rail operators, including LNER, TransPennine, and Cross Country have advised passengers that damage to overhead lines between Darlington and Newcastle means trains running between these stations may be delayed by up to 30 minutes or cancelled.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day (Tuesday, November 26).
The routes affected by the disruption are:
- CrossCountry between Plymouth and Edinburgh, and also between Newcastle and Reading
- Northern between Darlington and Newcastle
- LNER between Leeds and Aberdeen, and also between London Kings Cross and Sunderland / Newcastle / Edinburgh
- Lumo between London Kings Cross and Edinburgh
- TransPennine Express between Liverpool Lime Street / York and Newcastle]
