The interior of the office at a North East business has been named the best in the UK.
Mandale Group’s state-of-the-art HQ transpired after the old head office no longer met the company’s expanding business needs and commitment to enhancing staff wellbeing.
The aim was to build a collaborative environment that would support innovation, foster productivity, and promote a positive work-life balance.
The company has now been awarded Best Office Interior at the United Kingdom Property Awards in London and is nominated for the coveted title of Best in Europe at The International Property Awards, with the ceremony set to take place in February next year.
Adding to the celebrations, planning permission has just been granted for Mandale Homes' latest development: an 87-home project at Urlay Nook, named Stephenson Mews.
Having been previously based at Stockton’s North Tees Industrial Estate, the company moved into its current 15,000 sqft base in December 2022 – and it has proven to be a huge hit with staff.
“The new office has made a significant difference to all of our working lives. Staff wellbeing was always at the forefront of this move because it is paramount to us," said Richard Harriman, Director.
"Our primary goal was to create a workspace that not only exceeded expectations but also fostered a sense of pride and excitement amongst our team."
“The industrial interior design, for which we have won the award, was chosen for its versatility and neutral appeal, it features a striking blend of wood, metal, concrete and exposed brick.
"We wanted an office that is not only highly functional and meticulously designed but also exceptional in every detail.
"The new facilities, including the state-of-the-art gym, bar and staff recreation areas have brought this vision to life.”
“As a result of the move, everyone's work-life balance has improved which in turn, has increased productivity and given us a happier, healthier workforce."
The office, near Eaglescliffe, is directly adjacent to the newly planned development.
It has been named Stephenson Mews in homage to George Stephenson, the ‘Father of Railway’, while his pioneering Locomotion No.1 will be featured in the logo.
With planning permission now granted by Stockton Council, work on the development of two, three, and four-bedroom homes is set to commence in the new year and will feature a mix of semi-detached and detached properties.
