A student has been taken to hospital following an incident at a County Durham school.
Paramedics were called to Seaham High School, off Station Road, on Monday afternoon (November 25) after reports of a fall.
Several crews from the North East Ambulance Service were sent to the scene, with an air ambulance, containing a doctor and two paramedics, also attending.
In an email seen by The Northern Echo, headteacher Geoff Lumsdon said paramedics were called to the school following concerns for a student, who was then taken to hospital.
The ambulance service has confirmed that one person was taken to the Sunderland Royal Hospital by road, with their current condition remaining unknown.
A NEAS spokesperson said: "We were called to an incident in Seaham today (25 November) shortly before 2pm.
"We dispatched one ambulance crew and were supported by our colleagues at Great North Air Ambulance Service. One patient was taken to Sunderland Royal Hospital by road."

A Great North Air Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "Our team was activated at 2.11pm to reports of a fall in Seaham.
"We had two paramedics and a doctor on board and arrived at the scene at 2.23pm. We worked alongside the North East Ambulance Service to assess and treat a patient.
"Our team then returned to base at 2.40pm."
Seaham High School have confirmed that the incident took place, telling parents: "I'm just contacting you to make you aware that the Air Ambulance was called to the school site today by Paramedic's following concerns about a student.
"The family was informed, came to school and have travelled to hospital with the student in the Paramedic van."
