Man arrested and charged with burglary, dangerous driving and failing to stop after being stopped in a stolen vehicle in Hartlepool.
The 40-year-old was stopped by a traffic officer who suspected the vehicle he was driving was stolen.
The police thank members of the public who rushed to help at the scene of the incident.
A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "A 40-year-old man has been charged with a number of offences after a traffic officer stopped a suspected stolen vehicle in Hartlepool.
"The man was charged with burglary, aggravated vehicle taking, dangerous driving, no licence and failing to stop and he was remanded in custody to appear at Teesside Magistrates’ Court today (Saturday 23rd November).
"We’d like to thank the two members of the public who rushed to help at the scene of the incident."
