Storm Bert didn’t stop Santa calling by Middleton St George to help turn on the village Christmas lights.

The stormy snow and weather proved to be water off a ducks back for Father Christmas and his sleigh as he landed in the village on Saturday (November 23).

Santa Claus and one of his elves turned on the festive lights after the Community Centre’s Christmas Magic and Sparkle event.

Kids got to meet with the man himself and share their Christmas lists in the hope they’d avoided the naughty list.

There were yuletide crafts, carols with the Salvation Army brass band, dance performances, and stalls selling types of festive fayre.
