Plans to improve parking provision in a County Durham village have been submitted by the council.
Council proposals involves converting open space behind shops and houses on Western Avenue, Esh Winning, into a parking area.
This development aims to enhance utility for both commercial and residential properties in the area.
Approximately 0.01 hectares, the designated space that could become parking is currently classified as an open space amenity.
Under the plan, the new parking area will be built on a Type 1 granular sub-base and bordered with concrete kerbs.

The project proposal, submitted by a Durham County Council employee, includes specific design references for the engineering layout.
Located behind Londis Supermarket and the rear of properties numbered 3–7 on Deerness Grove, the change in the land's use to a parking area is expected to improve infrastructure and provide formal parking solutions for the immediate community.
A planning application has been officially submitted to Durham County Council, although at this early stage there is no indication on the planning portal about the timeframe for a decision to be made on the application.
Currently there is no sign of any objections or support from the public regarding the proposal.
