Police have confirmed that multiple vehicles were involved in a crash that saw the A19 in County Durham closed during rush hour.
Emergency services were at the scene on the A19 past the A179 Sheraton slip road following the crash at 7:40am this morning (November 21).
The road was closed along the stretch between 8am and 9am.
It is not known whether anyone has been injured.
A Durham Constabulary police statement reads: "Police were called at 7.40am today to a collision on the A19 involving several vehicles.
"It happened on the northbound carriageway near Sheraton interchange.
"The road was closed to allow for recovery of the vehicles, but has since reopened."
