A County Durham Homebase store has warned customers it may not be able to fulfil all orders and asked for members of the public to "respect" its staff after administrators were called in for the company.
Homebase Bishop Auckland took to social media on Tuesday to inform customers of the situation facing its staff.
The store said: "Very sad news for all of our team. As you will no doubt be aware from the media, Homebase is now under administration.
"As we are under administration we are unable to order any goods or process any refunds or exchanges for non-faulty goods or goods bought in error, please note that this is not a decision taken by us we are simply following instructions of the administrators, therefore please be respectful to our staff and managers as this is beyond their control and please only buy what you need.
"If you need any support with outstanding customer orders you can call customer services on 0333 003 7084 or email: homebase@teneo.com.
"Thank you for your understanding during this difficult time."

On Wednesday, November 13, Homebase was sold to retail group CDS in a rescue deal securing up to 1,600 jobs and 70 stores but leaving the future of its remaining 2,000 workers and 49 shops unclear.
In August, Sainsbury’s struck a deal to buy 10 Homebase stores and convert them into supermarkets.
The jobs still at risk include workers at Homebase’s head office in Milton Keynes, as well as the remaining stores.
The rescue deal comes after a hunt for a buyer from Homebase’s previous owners Hilco, which is thought to have lasted for the last two months.
Administrators said all employee wages and benefits will be paid for their period of employment, while customer orders will still be fulfilled as far as possible.
