A man has died after a car and lorry crashed on the A167.

Emergency crews rushed to the busy A-road near the Honest Lawyer in Croxdale on Friday (November 15) morning at about 10.30am after a Vauxhall Corsa and lorry collided.

The road was closed for several hours.

Paramedics attended but a 38-year-old man was pronounced dead at the scene. He has since been named as Stephen Taylor.

Paying tribute to him his parents said in a statement: “Stephen was loved by all. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and neighbours.

“We would like to thank everyone for their support and ask to be left so that we can grieve in peace.”

A police investigation remains ongoing with officers keen to speak to anyone with dashcam footage.
