During an advert for last night’s launch episode of I’m a Celebrity on ITV1, Peter Kay revealed a surprise for North East fans (and many others across the UK).

The comedian announced extra dates for his record-breaking Peter Kay Live tour which began in December 2022, including one in Newcastle next year.

Kay appeared in a new advert carrying a large gold toilet into his mum's famous bungalow (a reference to the title of his ‘Mum Wants A Bungalow tour’ from 2002).

On the bungalow’s garage door, ITV viewers were treated to a detailed mural of Freddie Mercury as Kay walked down the driveway.

One voice can be heard saying "is that Freddie Mercury?” as Kay replies "yeah, she's obsessed with him".

The fan then asked: "Are you doing any more shows?"

“I have no choice, she wants it all now,” Kay responded.

In total, Kay announced 21 new dates - kicking off in February 2025 and finishing in February 2026 - see the full list here.

As part of Peter Kay Live, the new dates will see the 51-year-old visit 16 cities within a year.

When is Peter Kay coming to Newcastle in 2025?

The Bolton-born comedian will be heading to Newcastle’s Utilita Arena on Saturday, August 23, 2025, as part of his confirmed extra tour dates.

The Newcastle Utilita website explains: “One of Britain’s best loved comedians, Peter Kay has announced extra dates for his record-breaking comedy tour including an extra date right here in Newcastle.

“Overwhelming demand for Peter’s return to stand-up comedy has been phenomenal and fans will now have more opportunity to experience his incredible show live.

“Peter’s tour, which started in Manchester, December 2022 has already broken records: remarkably he’s just completed his 100th show at the Manchester AO Arena breaking all attendance and performance records and, astonishingly, Peter is the first artist in the world to perform a monthly residency at The O2, London, performing 45 shows, the most played by any artist in the venue’s history.”
