Drivers have been warned to avoid the A66 eastbound to Middlesbrough after severe delays following an early morning crash.
There are currently delays of up to 45 minutes approaching the scene between the A1150 and A1027.
The incident was first reported by AA just after 8:45am.
An AA spokesperson said: "Queueing traffic and one lane closed due to crash on A66 Eastbound from Yarm Back Lane to A1027 Yarm Road (Preston Farm roundabout)."

A National Highways spokesperson said: "Lane 1 is closed on the A66 eastbound between A1150 and A1027 due to a collision.
"45 min delays on the approach."
We have approached Cleveland Police for more information.
