An investigation has been launched after a pile of crab carcasses were dumped in Stanley.
Durham Neighbourhood Wardens are looking into the incident which took place in Oxhill.
Pictures of the scene show hundreds of crab carcasses abandoned in a street.
A Durham Neighbourhood Warden spokesperson said: "Neighbourhood Warden 27 is investigating a fly tip of crab carcasses in Oxhill, Stanley.
"If you have any information that can assist us, please contact us on 03000 260 000 quoting reference number 1280671.
