The family of a "much loved" son paid tribute to his life after he was tragically killed in a crash yesterday.

Jack Nixon, 28, from Whitby, was killed in the crash near the Greystones Roundabout on the A174 in Redcar yesterday (November 15) after 3pm.

The road was closed for hours following the 'serious' collision between a Mercedes, Seat Leon a BMW and a pedestrian as emergency services attended the scene.

A man, aged 28, has been arrested in connection with the collision.

His family have now issued a picture of Jack with a dog as well as a heartbreaking tribute to his life, who they say will be "sorely missed".

Jack’s family said: “Jack was a much-loved son, brother, nephew, grandson and friend, who will be sorely missed.”

The family has asked for privacy as they grieve together.

Police are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed the collision or anyone with dash cam footage to contact Cleveland Police by calling 101, using the reference number SE24218779.
