A person has been taken to hospital after a medical incident at Darlington Station.

Police and paramedics were called to the station after a person felt unwell on a train just before 3.30pm on Friday, November 15. 

An air ambulance was sent to the scene, landing on a field off John Williams Boulevard South, near the CPI building, with pictures showing the helicopter beside a British Transport Police van.

The North East Ambulance Service has confirmed that it sent several crews to the station, before taking one person to Darlington Memorial Hospital by road. 

Their current condition is not known. 

A North East Ambulance Service spokesperson said: "We were called to a person unwell on a train at Darlington train station just before 3.30 this afternoon.

"We dispatched two double-crewed ambulances, a clinical team leader and requested support from Great North Air Ambulance Service. One patient was taken by road to Darlington Memorial Hospital."

A Great North Air Ambulance Service spokesperson added: "We were activated to an incident in Darlington at 3.42pm.

"Our critical care team flew directly from another incident and arrived at 3.58pm, where they worked alongside the North East Ambulance Service to treat the patient."
