Drivers in and around Darlington will have road closures and diversions to contend with during their commutes over the next week.
However, motorists can take some solace in the fact that most of them are expected to end by the end of the week.
Here is a list of the expected works, from National Highways, of diversions and closures around Darlington.
North Road, Darlington
Ran by Northumbrian Water on November 16 there will be Multi-way signals as investigations on an existing valve chamber is underway to resolve previous noise complaints.
This is expected to only be a one day work and is taking place outside of St Thomas Aquinas Roman Catholic College on North Road.
Neesham Road, Darlington
Ran by Northern Gas Networks works are set to start for ten days on Tuesday, November 19 and last till Friday, November 29.
There will be multi-way signals in place as work starts to disconnect four gas services four metres into the carriageway on Neesham Road, just off Victoria Street.
Durham Road, Coatham Mundeville
There will be a lane closure on Durham Road in Coatham Mundeville on the East and centre verge on the approach to Darlington for two days starting Thursday, November 21.
This is for highway improvement works with the installation of traffic signs and a VAS Speed sensor system, as well as some tree cutting for visibility.

West Auckland Road, Darlington
Ran by Northern Gas Networks until Friday, November 22 there will be multi-way signals on West Auckland Road on the footway outside of HQ Hairdressers to help with utility repair and maintenance.
The works are to attend, excavate and repair a gas escape.
Parkside, Darlington
Ran by Northumbrian Water and on Tuesday, November 19 there will again be multi-way signals outside One Lakeside just off Parkside Road.
The works are to excavate and replace the manhole cover and frame and are expected to only last one day.
