The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for snow and ice across the North East early next week.
Rain, sleet, and snow are all part of the flurry of cold and chilly weather set to hit North East and North Yorkshire on Monday and Tuesday (November 18 and 19) according to the Met Office.
The forecaster has stated that there is a high chance of snow settling on higher ground - but less of a chance that it would cause disruption at lower levels.
Currently, the forecast for Darlington does not have any direct snow forecast for those days but there is a high chance of rain with temperatures set to feel as low as -3C.
The forecaster added that the warning is set to have a "very low likelihood and a medium impact".
They wrote: "Spells of rain, sleet, and snow are likely during Monday and overnight into Tuesday morning.
"The most likely scenario is for most of the snow to fall on high ground, with 5 to 10 cm possible above 300 metres and perhaps as much as 15 to 20 cm above 400 metres.

"There is a small chance of snow settling at lower levels, where 5 to 10 cm would prove much more disruptive, but this is very uncertain."
According to the Met Office warning, people can expect travel delays on roads with a small chance of some stranded vehicles and passengers, along with delayed or cancelled rail and air travel
There is also a small chance that power cuts will occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected.
