A council worker was left with serious injuries after being mauled by three dogs in the street.
Officers were called to Amherst Road, in the Fawdon area of Newcastle, after reports of a disturbance on Wednesday, October 23.
A council worker - a man in his 60s - was found with serious injuries to the back of his head, face, and hand, and was taken to hospital for treatment.
Newcastle City Council confirmed that the council worker was attending a property at the time to carry out a routine repair.
He has since been discharged from hospital.
Northumbria Police attended the scene and took possession of the dogs with the agreement of their owner, with the force confirming they have since been destroyed.
A man in his 40s has been arrested on suspicion of being the owner of a dog that was dangerously out of control. He has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

A Newcastle City Council spokesperson said: “We can confirm that a council operative was attending a property at Amherst Road on 23 October to carry out a routine repair.
"While on the street outside the property, they suffered injuries consistent with being attacked by a dog. The operative was taken to hospital by ambulance for treatment and has since returned home.
"We are supporting him and his family during his recovery and are assisting the police with their ongoing investigation.”
