A van has overturned on the A1(M) in County Durham causing three to be rushed to hospital.
Emergency services were called to the serious road traffic incident on the A1(M) southbound near the Chester-le-Street junction this morning, November 14.
The incident was reported at 10:55am and is believed to involve a van that has rolled onto its roof.
Police, fire crews, and ambulance teams responded to the scene and ambulance transported three patients to the University Hospital of North Durham for further treatment.
Traffic was backed up and drivers saw delays of up to 28 minutes.

A NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 10.53am this morning to reports of a road traffic incident on the A1 Southbound near junction 62 in Durham.
"We dispatched three ambulance crews, a duty officer, a rapid response paramedic, and a crew from our Hazardous Area Response Team (HART).
"We transported three patients to the University Hospital of North Durham (UHND) for further treatment."
A spokesperson for Durham Constabulary said: "Police were called at 10.55am today (November 14) to a collision on the A1(M) in which a van is believed to have rolled onto its roof.
"It happened on the southbound carriageway near the Chester-le-Street junction.
"Colleagues from the fire service and ambulance also attended. One person is thought to have been injured."
