A string of festive events and attractions have been announced to be coming to Dalton Park in County Durham this festive season.

Christmas officially begins at Dalton Park tomorrow (November 15), kicking off a string of events and attractions for the season.

The outlet, located in Murton, is set to offer everything from a winter market, visits and even breakfast with Santa as well as stores extending their opening hours.

Richard Kaye, Centre Manager at Dalton Park, commented: "We are delighted to bring our community together once again and support local businesses for a magical Christmas experience.

Here are the events taking place and what you can expect.

The Christmas Launch Event

On Friday (November 15) the official Christmas Launch Event will mark the holiday season - hosted by Steve and Karen from Hits Radio.

Late-night shopping means visitors can hang around until 8:30pm and even see the lights switch on which will be done by the Sunderland Empire pantomime cast including an appearance from Emmerdale star Matthew Wolfenden.

Winter Artisan Market

From Saturday (November 16) the Artisan Market will take place for a special one-day-only celebration.

Street food, stalls, gifts and more are all a part of the bargain and there will be another Christmas-themed market on December 7 and 8.

Breakfast with Santa

If you have little ones then you can go to ‘Breakfast with Santa Experience’ at The Hole in Wand from December 1 to 8 from 9 to 11am.

For just £5 a "enchanting" experience is promised with festive fun including colouring kits, the chance to meet Santa as well as a wrapped gift.
