A man in his 70s has been hospitalised with chest pains following a crash on a County Durham road this morning.
Police were called to a crash involving two vehicles at the Salters Lane/Harap Road crossroads, between Fishburn and Trimdon, shortly before 9:40am today (November 14).
One driver, a man in his early 70s, reported chest pain following the crash and required medical attention.
Emergency services attended the scene, and the man was assessed for his condition and then taken to North Tees Hospital for further treatment.
The carriageway remained open after the incident, although motorists were advised to pass with care due to debris in the road.

A NEAS spokesperson said: "We received a call at 9.41am this morning to reports of a road traffic incident on Salters Lane in Fishburn. We dispatched an ambulance crew to the scene, and transported one patient to North Tees Hospital for further treatment."
A spokesperson for Durham Police said: "Police were called to a road traffic collision involving two motor vehicles shortly before 9:40am this morning. The collision took place at the Salters Lane/Harap Road crossroads, between Fishburn and Trimdon.
