The opening date for a unique three-storey nightclub in the North East has been revealed - here's everything you need to know.

The 3 Stories in Sunderland is set to finally open its doors on November 23 after much anticipation with live music, dancers, and a DJ set to mark their grand opening.

The new venue can be found on High Street West - in a building that formerly housed JJB Sports.

This comes after plans to transform the abandoned site were approved back in 2018 and are still ongoing as construction workers have been seen moving in and out of the building.

Outside the building on the outer wall, an application under the licensing act includes requests for the performance of live music and performances of dance until 3am.

Latest pictures taken today (November 14) show the final touches being made to the building including its sign - as locals report seeing "disco lights" being tested inside.

Here's what is on each floor and what attendees can expect:

The Storyteller: On the ground floor, visitors will find The Storyteller - an informal bar that will serve food and snacks.

Chapters: Up on the second floor is the Chapters bar which is more of a nightclub area. Bosses say it will have a "vibrant sports bar atmosphere".
