A new Turkish restaurant will open later this week, as the venue prepares for its grand opening to diners.
Turquaz, which will be based on Durham Road in Birtley, will open on Friday (November 11), with the restaurant inviting people to book a table on the first day of service.
The venue will be based at the site of another Turkish restaurant, Ala Turka, which previously closed and left the building empty and allowed it to pave the way for Turkuaz to open.
In the build-up to the grand opening of Turquaz, the owners have expressed their excitement at their chance to bring Turkish cuisine to the North East.
Posting on its social media, Turquaz said: "We’re thrilled to announce that Turquaz Turkish Cuisine will open its doors on November 15 at our new location on Durham Road, Birtley, DH3 2PF.
"Previously home to Ala Turka, our restaurant is now under new management, bringing fresh energy and an authentic Turkish dining experience to the neighbourhood.
