The search is on for two emus who broke out of a North East farm over the weekend as their owner warns the public to "not approach" the birds.

The crafty birds are understood to have escaped by jumping a fence on Sunday (November 10) from Gripps Farm in Brotton, near Saltburn.

However, the birds were reportedly later seen at Hunley Golf Club in Brotton, at around 2pm.

Sadly, there has been "absolutely no sighting since" according to owner Kerys Mcauley who has made a plea on social media to the public in a desperate bid to find the animals.

If anyone sees the birds they are warned not to approach and immediately alert Kerys.
