Signs have gone up for Darlington’s newest cocktail bar.
The Cherry Tree is soon set to open inside the former Avalon nightclub, on Blackwellgate, following weeks of major refurbishments.
Recent weeks have seen the exterior of the venue given a fresh lick of paint as part of a new black colour scheme - with pictures from the interior also showing elegant lighting figures hanging from the ceiling and a giant ace of spades card on the wall.
This weekend, The Cherry Tree has added new signs above the windows of the bar in the latest development of the project as it nears towards its launch date.
Bosses behind the venture have yet to confirm an opening date - although online posts have teased that it will be “opening soon”.
Last week, The Northern Echo reported how the Avalon sign had been taken down from the front of the building marking the “end of an era” of the popular night spot.
Works have been ongoing inside the venue for several weeks, with the seating and booths near the front of the site from its former home as Avalon now removed.
The venue previously said the site was “going to look a lot different than it did before” - although posts online suggested that the Avalon DJ booth in the back garden would remain once it re-launched as The Cherry Tree.
