Plans have been lodged for new signs at an upcoming Burger King drive-thru in the latest development of a new North East retail park.
The popular fast food chain has submitted plans to Stockton Council for 17 new signs and four menu boards at its upcoming Wynyard Retail Park site.
Design concept art shows several of the classic Burger King logo and a ‘flame grilling since 1954’ tagline on the side of the new drive-thru unit, alongside a number of directional signs and digital menu boards ready to welcome hungry customers.
Plans for the drive-thru unit - which will be located on a plot of land beside the roundabout connecting Wynyard Avenue to Chapel Lane (South) - mark the latest step forward on the major project for Wynyard.
As previously reported, Burger King is one of several big names confirmed for the complex, with coffee chain Starbucks and supermarket brand Sainsbury’s also set to move in.
All three firms make up the first phase of the project, with Sainsbury’s set to be the anchor brand of the site with a 48,330 sq ft food store.
The second phase will include 60,000 sq ft of retail accommodation across a range of sized units, with more retailers - which are currently unknown - poised to sign on soon.
Planning permission was granted earlier this year for the site, with the first phase of the development getting underway in May. Eyes remain set on May 2025 for when the site will be fully operational.
The retail park will also be complemented by a new 79,000 sq ft trade park, alongside the creation of 344 car park spaces in phase one and a further 206 spaces in phase two.
Earlier this year, images released by Northumberland Estates showed how the retail park will soon look, with plans for the phase two section having two large units and three smaller units.
