If you have a paw shaped hole in your heart then why not give a home to one of these adorable pooches looking for their forever home a second chance?
Dogs Trust in Darlington has more than 30 sweet and loving dogs who are dreaming of their forever home to come along.
And if you are after a sweet companion as the colder and darker nights draw in then you may want to consider a pup from the trust.
Here are just five of the dogs who are currently available for adoption.
Betty
Betty the Belgian shepherd is under six months old - and this young pup is suitable to live with cats, dogs, and kids of all ages.
Any home will need to help Betty with the usual puppy training and include a garden too.
Dave
Dave the staffie terrier is a young pup, aged between six and 12 months.
He's looking for a home with "lots of fun" and is able to live with primary and secondary school children.
Sid
Sid the lurcher is described as a "gorgeous lad" who is more than ready to find his fur-ever home.
Sid is between two and five years old and is said to enjoy having company during the day and would need a garden for playtime.
Tony
Tony the "busy" pup is still a youngster who is looking for a family that can keep him entertained.
He is able to love with other dogs as well as secondary school age children who will keep him entertained and happy.
