Dogs Trust in Darlington has more than 30 sweet and loving dogs who are dreaming of their forever home to come along.

And if you are after a sweet companion as the colder and darker nights draw in then you may want to consider a pup from the trust.

Here are just five of the dogs who are currently available for adoption.

Betty

Betty the Belgian shepherd is under six months old - and this young pup is suitable to live with cats, dogs, and kids of all ages.

Any home will need to help Betty with the usual puppy training and include a garden too.

Dave

Dave the staffie terrier is a young pup, aged between six and 12 months.

He's looking for a home with "lots of fun" and is able to live with primary and secondary school children.

Sid

Sid the lurcher is described as a "gorgeous lad" who is more than ready to find his fur-ever home.

Sid is between two and five years old and is said to enjoy having company during the day and would need a garden for playtime.

Tony the "busy" pup is still a youngster who is looking for a family that can keep him entertained.

He is able to love with other dogs as well as secondary school age children who will keep him entertained and happy.

However, Tucker, who is between two and five years old is said to lack confidence and will need a home with no other pets and children.
