Police in Bishop Auckland have made three arrests after a police helicopter spotted a stolen scooter with three riders.
Multiple Police motorbikes and police cars, along with a police helicopter, responded quickly to the sighting yesterday, (November 6).
The suspects abandoned the scooter on a farm track and ran off on foot.
One suspect attempted to avoid officers by jumping into a lake but had to be rescued when he began struggling in the water.

All three individuals were arrested and face multiple charges including theft of a motor vehicle, driving without insurance, driving without a licence and drug driving related offences.
The stolen scooter was successfully recovered.
