A man has appeared in court following an alleged attempted rape at a Darlington park.
Malcolm Thomas Clixby this morning (Monday, November 4) appeared at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court charged with attempted rape, sexual assault and false imprisonment.
The 42-year-old, of Greenbank Road in Darlington, was remanded in custody until his next court appearance, which will take place at Teesside Crown Court on December 4.
Clixby will appear at the court on this date for a plea and trial preparation hearing.
This follows an alleged incident in the town's South Park on Saturday (November 2).

Officers taped off a section of the park following reports of a sexual assault.
As previously reported, the alleged assault took place when a girl, aged 17, was approached by a man at about 4.45pm.
Pictures from the scene on Sunday showed a cordon set up at the scene, alongside several police vehicles and a crime scene investigation team.
