A man has been charged after an alleged attempted rape at a Darlington park.
Malcolm Thomas Clixby will today (Monday, November 4) appear at Newton Aycliffe Magistrates' Court charged on suspicion of attempted rape, sexual assault and false imprisonment.
It follows an alleged incident in the town's South Park on Saturday (November 2) where officers taped off a section of the park following reports of a sexual assault.

As previously reported, the alleged assault took place when a girl, aged 17, was approached by a man in a park around 4.45pm.
Pictures from the scene on Sunday showed how blue and white police tape was set up at the scene, with crime scene investigations in attendance.
Clixby, 42, of Darlington, is expected to appear in court this morning.
