Plans for a beauty salon on a Darlington street have been approved by the council.
The council granted the approval allowing the salon to offer nail treatments, facials, and waxing.
Operated by Mrs. Nicola Mallinson, the salon will use a garden room at 204 Coniscliffe Road.
Once the necessary licensing is secured, microblading and aesthetic services will also be available.
The salon, located in the West End Conservation Area, will serve one client at a time, initially accommodating one to four clients daily.
The garden room, situated behind the garage, will remain unaltered externally, with clients accessing the room via the driveway, ensuring no need to enter the main house.
To maintain the area's residential feel, the salon will not display any external advertising.
The salon is approved to operate between 9am and 8pm, Tuesday to Saturday, and it must remain closed on Sundays and bank holidays.

Mrs. Mallinson anticipates business growth, aiming to fully utilise the approved operating hours.
However, if the salon's client volume exceeds six clients per day, a new, full planning application will be required.
The council's decision notice also specified that only the garden room is approved for use as the beauty salon.
No other structures on the property, such as the garage or garden store, may be used for commercial purposes.
The council noted that the limited number of customer visits and the nature of the services, which aim to create a peaceful environment, are expected to keep disturbances to a minimum, thereby maintaining the residential setting undisturbed.
Parking space is available within the property boundary and on the nearby road.
The property, which had prior planning approval for the construction of the garden room, is on a busy road with similar small businesses nearby.
Mrs. Mallinson believes the garden room is suitable for a small-scale beauty salon in a residential area with minimal external impact, complying with planning guidelines.
