New pictures have offered the latest look at the work ongoing at Teesside Park's new mega unit.
Construction crews are continuing work at the popular shopping complex on Unit 9A, which was formerly made up of Laura Ashley, Argos, USC, and MenKind.
In recent months, the units have been merged into one huge store - with the old front removed brick by brick to bring the store up to date with the park's sleek new glass-fronted look.
While bosses have not officially confirmed which "brilliant new brand" will be moving in, plans drawn up by the owner British Land state Sports Direct will be "coming soon" to the unit.
New pictures have now provided the latest look at how the site looks, with the new glass front, entrance door, and black trim across the top, as seen across other stores at the park, already installed.
The unit remains surrounded by a fence while construction continues, with no news yet on when the site will be ready for a retailer to move in.
Avid Teesside Park shoppers will know the sporting chain currently has a store just metres from the unit under construction, which remains open as normal.
However, last year, parent company Frasers Group announced it would be expanding Sports Direct into a new 40,000 sq ft space, with its current home taken over by designer chain Flannels following a major refurbishment.
A GAME and Evans Cycles store will also be located within the new Sports Direct.
Bosses initially pinpointed a late 2024 launch date for the stores - and The Northern Echo understands the store could be ready to go later this year/in early 2025.
Once open, it will join a number of major retailers in opening new stores at the site, with brands such as White Stuff, Rituals, and PureGym all recently launching new locations.
Catherine Furlong, centre director at Teesside Park, previously said: “There’s been a wealth of new openings confirmed over the past 12 months and this is another major announcement for us.
"Flannels has a fantastic luxury brand portfolio, while the expansion of Sports Direct means their store will be bigger and better than ever. We can’t wait for the doors to open on the new stores - it’s a very exciting period for Teesside Park and our visitors!”
Michael Murray, chief executive of Frasers Group, added: “We are big believers in physical retail and our significant investment demonstrates not only our commitment to the Elevation Strategy but also our innovative approach to rethinking large retail spaces to make them fit for the future.

"With each new store opening, we seek to set the benchmark for outstanding regional retail as we continue to bring the world’s most aspirational brands, product innovations, and customer experiences to regional consumers across the UK.”
Darren Richards, head of real estate at British Land, also said at the time: “These new lettings across our regional retail portfolio clearly demonstrate the strength of the retail park format and Meadowhall’s appeal as a super-regional centre.
"These brands are successfully evolving to meet the ever-changing demands of the consumer, and we look forward to working closely with Frasers Group as it continues to roll out its Elevation Strategy.”
