A NORTH East school has thrown a Halloween bash to reward pupils for their “hard work and exemplary behaviour” since the start of the school year.

Dubbed ‘October Fest’, the event at Longfield Academy, in Darlington, featured activities including a neon disco, face painting, spooky biscuit baking, drama workshops, Halloween-themed engineering challenges, karaoke, and even slime science classes.

Headteacher Angela Sweeten, who led the facepainting workshop, said: “Halloween was the perfect opportunity to celebrate how proud we are of our Longfield Academy community, and the change of culture we have created which is based on positivity and respect.

“This is such an exciting time for us all and we wanted to acknowledge the amazing school we have become. October Fest was a way of thanking our pupils for just being brilliant!”
