Two people have been arrested after a litter of seven-week-old cocker spaniel puppies were reportedly stolen from a County Durham home.
The incident took place at a property in Kelloe last night (Sunday, October 27) when the five adorable pups were allegedly stolen, leaving their mother Freckles devastated.
The pooches were too young to be separated from Freckles - and therefore needed to be returned urgently to her.
Durham Constabulary issued a desperate plea on Monday to anyone who has seen any suspicious pup selling posts or listings online, urging them to get in touch.
Now, the force has confirmed that four of the puppies have been found and are resting up at Bishop Auckland police station.
Officers are still looking for one more puppy, which police believe may have been sold.
The force also confirmed that a man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the incident and are on route to custody.
A spokesperson said: "We have some furry good news…
"Earlier today, we shared an appeal to find five 7-week-old cocker spaniel puppies.
"We are delighted to share that four of the puppies have been found and are now resting up at Bishop Auckland police station.
