A North East Specsavers is offering free eye tests to mark its first anniversary.
The Team Valley store in Gateshead aims to raise awareness about the dangers of ignoring early signs of eye conditions that could lead to sight loss.
Since opening, the store has tested more than 6,500 people and plans to conduct more free tests throughout 2024.
The store is also offering half-price OCT scans, costing £5 for the rest of the year.
Martin Dillon, ophthalmic director at the store, said: "The store was set up here as there was a lack of specialist care available to customers in the area without travelling further into town, and just that barrier can put people off keeping on top of their eye health.
"Prevention, early diagnosis and treatment of common eye conditions are key to reducing the number of people suffering sight loss unnecessarily."
This technology generates a 3D image of the back of the eye, helping to identify serious conditions like glaucoma up to four years earlier than traditional methods.

According to recent figures, more than 7,000 people in Gateshead have sight loss.
The Royal National Institute of Blind People (RNIB) predicts this will rise to nearly 8,000 by 2032.
Age-related macular degeneration, cataracts, diabetic retinopathy, and glaucoma are among the conditions leading to sight loss.
Mr Dillon added: "Yet despite sight being the sense that most people are concerned about losing, many people don't actually have their eyes checked every two years.
"Regular eye health checks are important in preventing sight loss.
"They are essential for everyone, even if you think your eyes are fine, because damage can be done before you notice it."
He also advised against the overuse of electronic screens saying: "Overuse of screens without a break can result in dry eyes, tired eyes and even blurred vision."
