Police have made an appeal to find out if a woman is safe and well after she was seen getting into a white car following a row in the street last night. 

The woman was seen getting into what is believe to be a white Audi as a man drove off with the door still open in Ragpath Lane, Stockton, last night. 

A Cleveland Police spokesperson said: "We are appealing for a woman who was seen getting into a white car – believed to be an Audi - on Ragpath Lane, Stockton last night (Friday 25th October) to contact us.

"Police received a report that an argument between a man and woman took place on the street around 11.30pm then while the woman was getting into the vehicle and the door was still open, the male driver drove off towards Starbucks.

"We have not received any subsequent reports about or from the woman but we do need to ensure she is safe and well.

"She is described as around 19 or 20 years old, wearing a velour tracksuit."

The man driving the car is described as being of muscular build with blonde hair.
