Two teenagers were arrested after a suspected stolen vehicle was located in the Middlesbrough area.

Proactive Team officers responded after spotting two teenagers in a BMW with the engine running in  in Hubbard Walk at 4pm on Wednesday, October 23.

The vehicle had been reported stolen.

A search of the car revealed a large knife, an imitation firearm, and hundreds of pounds in cash.

The 16-year-olds were arrested on suspicion of theft of a motor vehicle, possession of an offensive weapon, possession of criminal property, and have been bailed while inquiries continue.
