A man was stabbed in the early hours of this morning while standing at a cash machine.
Tesco Express on Linthorpe Road, in Middlesbrough, was taped off by police officers this morning.
A 51-year-old man was found with injuries to his leg and lower back after the incident and had to be treated by paramedics after police were called to a stabbing shortly after midnight.
The incident is believed to have occurred at a cash machine.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Shortly after midnight on Thursday 24 October police were called to Linthorpe Road in Middlesbrough following reports of a stabbing that is believed to have occurred at a cash machine at Tesco Express.
"A 51-year-old man was located with injuries believed to have been made to his leg and lower back and required treatment from paramedics.
"Enquiries are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Cleveland Police on 101 quoting reference number 203643."
