If you have a paw shaped hole in your heart then why not give a home to one of these adorable pooches looking for their forever home?

Dogs Trust in Darlington has over 30 sweet and loving dogs who are dreaming of their forever home to come along.

Here are just five of the dogs who are currently available for adoption.

Fergus

This golden retriever is still a youngster and is between six and 12 months old. According to trainers he is a "fantastic lad" who enjoys exploring on walks.

Moss

Moss is keen for a quiet, adult-only home due to his sensitive nature.

He enjoys the company of other dogs and could potentially share a home with one. However, his new home should have a secure garden for him to play in.

Prospective owners should be ready to visit him multiple times to form a bond due to his shyness.

Ozzy

Ozzy the "excitable" bulldog is looking for a home - and can live with secondary school children as well as other dogs.

Trainers say he would benefit from brushing up on his basic training skills and have positive outlets to channel his energy into.

This pup is "guaranteed to bring a smile to your face every day".

Scarlett

Scarlett the "stunning" Akita is aged between 2 and 5 and is a "playful character" who loves spending time with people.

Trainers say she needs a family who are confident around larger breeds and can handle her "excitable" nature.
