A pedestrian has tragically died after being hit by a vehicle this morning.
Emergency services attended a collision at around 1.20am today (Tuesday, October 22), where a man, 50, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash happened on the A1058 Coast Road, between the Corner House and Cradlewell.
Ambulances attended, where the man was found to have sustained fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene a short time later.
The key road remained closed until 9am this morning as police launched their investigation into the circumstances.

A man in his 60s has now been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving. He remains in custody while the enquiries are ongoing.
Northumbria Police have launched an appeal for witnesses or anyone with dashcam footage of the moments leading up to the collision to get in touch.
Sergeant John Sanderson, of Northumbria Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit, said: “This is a tragic incident in which a man has sadly lost his life.
“Our thoughts remain with his family as they look to come to terms with the loss of their loved one.
“We are committed to investigating and better understanding the circumstances that led to collision and would ask anyone who was in the area at the time to come forward.
“Your dashcam footage or information could prove vital in our investigation.”
