A man has been banned from driving after being caught behind the wheel while under the influence of cannabis.
Conner Dodds, 23, of Ascot Street, Easington Colliery, pleaded guilty to the charge on October 21.
Dodds was found to have delta-9-tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in his blood at a concentration of 3.6 micrograms per litre – above the legal limit – when he drove in Hutton Grove, Haswell, on August 9.
The legal limit is 2 micrograms per litre.
He has been disqualified from driving for 17 months and ordered to pay a £277 fine, costs of £85, and a victim surcharge of £34.
The case was dealt with at Hartlepool Magistrates' Court.
Dodds was also charged with driving a motor vehicle with a proportion of a specified controlled drug above the specified limit on the same date.
