A police cordon remains in place on the scene of a break-in at a County Durham shop following the early morning incident on Tuesday (October 22).
Emergency services were called to Morrisons Daily on Neville Parade in Newton Aycliffe at around 2.40am, following reports of a break-in at the shop.
Police officers were seen at the row of shops on Neville Parade from the early hours of Tuesday morning, with Durham Police confirming that the cordon is still in place.
Images from the scene showed that one of the three shutters at the shop was heavily damaged in the incident.

Police officers could also be seen inside and outside of the Neville Parade shop on Tuesday concentrating their search on the doorway of the store.
Durham Police has confirmed that nothing was taken during the break-in, and an investigation has been launched following the early hours incident.

Police were called at around 2.40am this morning to reports of a break in at Morrisons on Neville Parade, Newton Aycliffe.
It is not believed anything has been taken from the store.
A police cordon remains in place and enquiries remain ongoing.
