Two people have been arrested after a 'street brawl' in Durham.
Emergency services were called to Claypath, in the city centre, on Sunday (October 20) after reports of an altercation shortly after 3am.
One man was left with head injuries following the incident, and was taken to the Royal Victoria Infirmary in Newcastle for treatment.
A cordon was erected across Claypath following the ordeal, with pictures from the scene on Sunday morning showing several police vehicles along the road.
Durham Constabulary has now confirmed that two men have been arrested in connection with the incident and were taken into custody. They have since been released on bail.
The condition of the man who sustained head injuries is not yet known.
A force spokeswoman said: “We were called to reports of an altercation on Claypath, Durham City, shortly after 3am on Sunday, October 20.

“One-man sustained head injuries and was taken to the RVI, in Newcastle, for treatment.
“Two men were arrested in connection with the incident and taken into custody. They have both been bailed while enquiries continue.
