An inquest to establish the circumstances surrounding the fatal bike crash that claimed the life of a County Durham teenager has been opened.
Tony Hedley, who was known as TJ, died after a collision involving a taxi on Saturday, October 5 at around 8pm.
Floral tributes were left at the spot where the 16-year-old boy died as the community mourned his death.
A second boy, also 16, was seriously injured in the incident on Park Road in South Moor, Stanley.

The inquest was opened at Crook Civic Centre on Monday by County Durham Coroner Jeremy Chipperfield.
Durham Constabulary is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the boy’s death.
